And their desire was to stare at the man sitting in the driver’s seat.” Vonnie James
Maggie’s Sangria is actually my sister Penny’s recipe. She originally served it at a bridal shower for her daughter-in-law. Once we all tasted it, we were hooked. In fact, she went through about ten bottles of wine before the shower was over. We had a really good time. And now, it’s not a party without her sangria.
1 bottle dry red wine – I like Merlot
1 can sprite
1 cup orange juice
3/4 cup brandy
1 apple – sliced thin
1 orange – sliced into thin rounds
1 lemon – sliced into thin rounds
1 lime – sliced into thin rounds
In a large pitcher, mix together the wine, sprite, orange juice & brandy; stir. Add the sliced fruit to the pitcher along with ice. Or, if you have time, place the sliced fruit into pitcher with the brandy & refrigerate for 2 hours or more. Needless to say, I NEVER have the time (or patience) for that step, Enjoy!
